Last night, another
balot vendor was shot dead. Balot vendors belong to the poorest groups in the Philippines.
Balot vendors should be admired. They work hard, selling boiled egg late in the evening, despite the small amount they get. Despite their situation, they have survived. At night, they're selling balot, in the day, they're probably jacks-of-all-trades, making do with whatever work they could find.
It's really sad that one was shot last night for refusing to be threatened and be forced to pay. It's infuriating that even with hard work, this is what that balot vendor got in return.
